III. Criminal Law (Offenses and Punishments)
Theft
Taking another’s property requires repayment and additional penalty.
Assault
Unlawful injury requires compensation and may result in imprisonment.
Murder
Intentional unlawful killing is punishable by exile, life labor, or death (depending on the realm).
Fraud and Corruption
Bribery, forgery, and deception of public office are major crimes.
Treason
Actions intended to overthrow lawful government by force are punishable by exile or execution.
Arson and Destruction
Destroying homes, fields, public buildings, or magical infrastructure is a serious crime.
Magic
Any use of magic is strongly prohibited. If someone you know, or you see someone that is Magic born it is to immediately report to the king or a kings guard. The same applies to seeing someone practicing magic.
Banditry and Highway crime
Robbery, extortion, and armed intimidation carry severe penalties.
False accusation
Knowingly accusing an innocent person is punished as a crime.
The Kings Word is Final
The King of Oaklia may decide the punishment for breaking the laws. Reccomandations and opinions are allowed, but the kings decision is final and not to question.
