LEGISLATION XXXI of the Year Two Hundred and Fifth
Concerning the Workshops of False Guntrelandic Paper Money
We, KAROLINA-LOUISE,
By Right of the Congress Archqueen of Sigisland and of All the Congress Nations,
High Protectress of the Congress Order,
— to Our subjects direct and indirect, and to all and every person to whom these presents may in any wise pertain — do by these Letters ordain, command, and solemnly proclaim the following:
Recalling that it is the will of Our Majesty that throughout all continents there should reign peace, prosperity, and justice, and that the good and common folk should not suffer punishment for the crimes and misdemeanors of their political rulers; and further, that the continued circulation of false paper money of Guntreland, within the rebellious territories of that Kingdom, might bring about an enlargement of the present crisis, spreading poverty, famine, affliction, and pestilence among vast numbers of innocent souls within Guntreland—
We therefore decree and forbid, under Our royal seal and signature, the further production of any and all false Guntrelandic paper currency upon the soil of the Archkingdom.
We do hereby further declare and affirm, that the amnesty granted by Legislation IV of the Year Two Hundred and First, concerning those of Our subjects who, having been pardoned from imprisonment for counterfeiting, were employed upon the fabrication of false Guntrelandic paper money, shall remain in full force and effect;
Yet from this day forth such persons shall be redeployed and commissioned to the engraving and production of illustrated correspondence cards and view-postcards, depicting scenes and images drawn from the treasures of the Archroyal Museums, as well as to other labours of cultural significance for the Archroyal Realm, according to each one’s skill, talent, and capacity — and they shall receive for such employment the same stipend and recompense as they heretofore enjoyed in the work of fabricating Guntrelandic currency.
